Global Mode > Omnivores
Opening Tuesday, October 5th, 7:00 pm
Instituto Cervantes New York
from 10/06/2021 to 11/10/2021
Instituto Cervantes is pleased to present Global Mode > Omnivores, a solo exhibition by new media artist Eva Davidova.
Davidova’s participatory mixed reality installations, digital animations, and hybrid objects highlight the inter-connectivity within humans and non-humans on our planet, using ancient myths and novel technology to address ecological disasters and the potential for alternative action. Global Mode > Omnivores also serves as a platform for a series of Tentacles /“happenings” that will take place during the length of the exhibition, bringing into dialogue works by three additional artists.
A special thanks to collaborators Danielle McPhatter, Matthew D. Gantt, Meredith Drum and Marissa Delano, performers Naicha Diaby, Heather Mo’witz and MX. Oops, choreographer/ dancer Kristen McNally, and to Asher Remy Toledo for his advisory presence.
Acknowledgments for the generous support by ISSUE Project Room, Harvestworks, NYU Tandon School of Engineering Integrated Digital Media Motion Capture Lab plus mentorship from NOKIA Bell Labs engineers; Residency Unlimited, IEA Alfred, NEW INC , Align Studio and Depthkit.
